He led a group of families from Farmington in 1686 to Christian Lane and set up housekeeping there. He called the area "Farmington Village" and the name remained until 1722 when it became known as Kensington-Worthington. He was Captain of fort or stockade built with others as a fortress and protection against Indians. Built settlement between 1686 and 1687. He was one of the founders of Christian Lane Church. Brandegee indicates that his son may have given Christian Lane Cemetery.
