Rose died at John Dempsey Hospital in Farmington at age 77 years. She and her husband had lived on Porter's Pass, Berlin. They had been married for 54 years. Rose was a graduate of Berlin High School. She was employed at Stanley Works and at New Britain Machine Company and later owned and operated the Star Restaurant in Berlin with her husband until their retirement in 1991. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin, and the AARP. She was survived by her husband, Joseph Aivano; a son, Peter and his wife, Laverne of Canton; a son, Joseph of Berlin; a son, David and his wife, Elizabeth of Berlin; a sister, Justina, of Berlin; several grandchildren; three nieces; and two nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Major Quarello. Funeral services and calling hours were held at Porter's Funeral Home in Kensington. Funeral Liturgy at Sacred Heart Church in East Berlin.
