Roger died at home ; he was of Dania Beach, FL. He had been ill with cancer. He was formerly of Kensington, CT and a 1977 graduate of Berlin High School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business management from Boston College and was a director of special events for several hotels in Florida.
He was survived by his parents, Roger W. and Mary Lou [Jorsey] Austin; a sister and brother-in-law, Lu-Ann and Gary Reznik, of Plantsville; a niece; a nephew; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorial service held at Porter's Funeral Home in Kensington; Rev. Robert Warson of St, Gabriel's Church in East Berlin officiated. There were no calling hours. Burial was at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations to the Humane Society in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
