Harrison Porter Baker of New Britain died at age 87 at a local convalescent home.
Husband of Evelyn Frances [Hove] Baker for 62 years.
Berlin resident for 43 years.
Graduate of Mount Hermon School.
U.S. Army veteran of WW II; achieved rank of Major.
B.A degree in economics from Wesleyan University.
Retired Lieutenant Colonial in Army Reserve.
Retired as vice president of manufacturing of The Stanley Works Hardware Division.
Member of First Church of Christ Congregational.
Member of Shuttle Meadow Country Club.
Former member of Berlin Lion's Club
Survived by his wife Evelyn; three daughters and two sons- in- law, Carol and Eugene Suggs of Moneta, VA, Joan Baker of New Britain and Wareham, MA; and Laurel and John Walker of Ashland, MA; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a nephew.
Predeceased by a son Robert Hovey Baker; and a brother Lawrence Baker.
Memorial service at First Congregational Church with reception following in church parlor. Burial at convenience of the family. No calling hours
Memorial donations to Memorial Fund of The First Church of Christ Congregational, New Britain.
Porter's Funeral Service in Kensington in charge of arrangements.
