Joseph died at age 70 at New Britain General Hospital after long illness.
Had lived most of his life in New Britain.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Formerly employed by Donnelly brick Yard Co, the Camosci Construction Co.
Retired in 1995 after 15 years of service as foreman of New Britain Public Works Dept.
Member of St. Joseph Church.
Survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores [Palmere] Bakaj; daughter Roseann Daniele and husband, Angelo of Rocky Hill,; son Joseph E.L. Bakaj and wife Jean of Canton, NC; daughter Nancy St. Onge and husband Raymond of Southington; daughter, Marlene Kane and husband Gerald of Mineral, VA; daughter Darlene Wood and husband Thomas of Plantsville; eight grandchildren; a great-grandaughter; and several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
