During the Civil War, she and her husband, the Reverend Nathan Coleman, taught in the south, in Norfolk, Va. In 1864 and near Petersburg, Va. In 1865. At the time North wrote her history, ca. 1916, Sara Clark Coleman was living with her sister (see record for Hope S. Clark [Beale]) in Camden, Me.
