1 His father, Edward, with his family fled Scotland to Northern Ireland and planned to emigrate to U.S. but died. Edward then came to Boston, then Berlin with 18 cents in his pocket. He brought his siblings, William, Noah, Anna and Jennie to the Colony. Home was on Lower Lane. He was a skilled tinsmith [1st in the U.S. in 1747. His shop was known as Bang All, due to the hammering of the tin. He purchased the tin from England. He began selling products by going from house to house. [Cataloger's Note: BPLH Card Notes record that he died on 22 DEC 1787 at age 57and is buried at Bridge Cemetery and that his birthdate is incorrect. BPLH Card Notes also record that his wife, Elizabeth Hills, died 06 NOV 1804 at age 72 years and is buried at South Cemetery. Hale Cemetery Records record an Edward Pattison having died on the same date and at age 66 years and buried at South Cemetery. Hale Cemetery Records also record wife as "Harriet, wife of Edward ".
