Apocalypses are an inescapable part of our past, present, and future. They signal an end of times and serve to unveil difficult truths that otherwise remain unseen or unheeded.

In this talk, Dr. Ritchie draws on diverse perspectives (including disaster management, geography, and climate science) to examine the many apocalyptic aspects of global environmental change.

Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of Earth’s changing climate at the global scale, impacts at the regional and local scales, and—perhaps most importantly—how apocalyptic events can be mitigated and adapted to. This talk will close with a discussion of how attendees can improve their personal emergency preparedness and foster visions of hope for the future.

    Video Chat

We will meet online with a video chat using Zoom. If you have never used Zoom before, it is very simple and user friendly. We recommend installing Zoom on whichever device you will use (computer, smartphone, tablet) before the program starts. When you click the invite link, you will be prompted to open or install Zoom.
