We love to see your creations! Share photos of your Take and Make crafts on our Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram pages or email us at library@berlinpeck.org.
Supplies are limited, so place your hold as soon as possible. Once all of the kits are reserved, there will be a waiting list. If a kit is not picked up after 5 days, it will go to the next person on the list.
Registration opens January 31. Once you’ve placed a hold, kits will be available for pickup Thursday, February 10.
Included in Kit
- 2” Clay Pot (1)
- 30 mm wooden bead (1)
- Fabric for hat and scarf
- Buttons (2)
- White craft paint
- Ribbon (8”)
Additional Supplies Needed
- Scissors
- Hot glue and glue gun (available to borrow)
- Black and orange markers or sharpies

Instructions
Step 1
Paint the clay pot and the wooden bead with the white craft paint. You will probably need 2 or 3 light coats to cover them completely.

Step 2
While your paint dries, fold up one of the long edges of your larger fabric piece to form a finished edge. Use a few dabs of hot glue to hold it in place. This will be the bottom edge of the snowman’s hat.

Step 3
When paint is fully dry, draw on your snowman’s face, making sure that the holes are on top and bottom. You may want to sketch them in pencil first. Use a black marker or sharpie for the eyes and mouth and an orange one for the nose.

Step 4
Wrap the larger fabric piece around the snowman’s head, with the folded edge at the bottom. Add a few dots of hot glue to the bead to hold the fabric tightly in place. Once the glue is dry, tie the ribbon around the hat, just above the bead, and trim excess fabric.

Step 5
Attach the snowman’s head to the clay pot with hot glue. Wrap the thin strip of fabric around the snowman’s neck and tie in a knot on the side. You may need a few dots of hot glue to keep it in place. Attach the two buttons with hot glue. Cut small slits in the ends of the scarf and hat, if desired.
