Winslow Homer, one of America’s most celebrated artists, was on the front lines of the Civil War documenting battles and moments of quiet contemplation. These scenes have come to define the conflict. Homer’s paintings after the war show a beautiful, if uneasy, peace in America.
Sponsored by a partnership between Berlin-Peck Memorial Library and Wethersfield Library.
