Welcome, December!

It’s the time of year for mittens, hot chocolate, twinkly lights, and SNOW! Here in the Children’s Department, we’re hoping that you’ll help us create an indoor Winter Wonderland this winter break. And don’t forget to check out some fantastic new books (as well as older favorites) when you visit. Need inspiration? Click on our printable Winter Holidays booklist (below). Browse our holiday displays and check out a board game (or two), perfect for a cozy night spent with family!

 

Library Hours

Weekday hours are 10am–8pm, 5pm on Fridays.

Saturday Hours are 10am–4pm.

Senior hours are Wednesdays and Fridays, 9am–10am.

December 31 to January 1 (Friday to Saturday)

 

Please wear a mask.

Masks are required for all unvaccinated individuals inside the library; required for all individuals in the Children’s Department, regardless of vaccination status; and strongly suggested for everyone throughout the entire library.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year Scavenger Hunt!

All ages

Join us for a fun winter-themed scavenger hunt around the library! Earn a penguin or snowflake sticker just for trying.

Snowflake Studio

Let it snow! Help us turn the Children’s Department into a Winter Wonderland by making a snowflake in our Snowflake Studio! We’ll provide everything you need (crayons, foldable snowflake templates, etc.).

Disguise A Snowman!

Please help a snowman make it through the winter by disguising him or her from the sun to keep from melting! What disguise will you choose? A superhero, princess, or ninja? We’ll provide markers and crayons, and the disguised snowmen will be displayed in the library!

Winter Hat Craft

Make Your Own Robot Mask

Reading Academy and Pre-K Academy Launchpads

We’ve added brand new Reading Academy and Pre-K Academy Launchpads to our collection! The Reading Academy Launchpads are specifically designed to help kids master verbal, reading, and writing skills, starting at any level. Each of the apps, stories, and videos help kids gain the knowledge they need to transition from learning-to-read to reading-to learn!

The Pre-K Academy Launchpads are designed to help preschool-aged children develop the skills they need to enter kindergarten. Check one out today!
