Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library.

We ❤ our Friends

The Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization committed to supporting and advocating for the Library. The Friends fund Library programs and museum passes, provide funds for items beyond the regular library budget, encourage reading, and perform needed services for our library. Tax-deductible yearly memberships are the Friends major source of income, which helps the Library to provide countless necessary services to the community and to Library patrons of all ages, free of charge. Without the Friends’ support, our Library would not be the outstanding resource it is.

Book Donations

All donations become the property of the Friends of the Berlin-Peck Memorial Library, and may be added to the collection, sold at the book sale, or discarded. Donations added to the collection may be subsequently withdrawn when they are worn or when their content is no longer current.

Gifts policy

Drop-Off Locations

DO bring donations directly to the Friends Bookstore, located in the Berlin Community Center, during Bookstore hours.

DO NOT put donations in the Library’s book drop, on the bench in front of the book drop, or behind the Library.

Acceptable Donations

Bookstore staff are volunteers with limited time to sort donations. Make it easy for the volunteers by donating clean, like-new, and current materials. Acceptable donations: books published after 2000, DVDs, CDs, audio books on CD, board games and puzzles.

Unacceptable Donations

Please do not donate damaged items: torn pages, highlighting or writing, discoloration, smelly, missing pieces, outdated. No computer guides, tax guides, almanacs, travel books, law books, textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, cookbooks, VHS tapes, or music cassettes. They just don’t sell.
