Join us for the Library’s first ever year-round reading challenge!

This challenge uses a list of reading prompts from the popular POPSUGAR Reading Challenge. The list includes 50 reading prompts, from specific (“a book with a rabbit on the cover”) to vague (“a book your friend recommended”).

 

Read & Pin

Show off your love of reading with reading-themed pins! You earn one pin for every five books you read.

Visit the Reference Desk with your reading log to pick out your pins.

POPSUGAR Reading Challenge logs are available at the Reference Desk, or you can print your own.

 

What are the prizes?

• Prizes are small pins (also called buttons) approximately one inch across. They fasten with a sharp safety-pin style closure on the back and are not suitable for young children.
• Pin designs are first come, first served—so pick your favorite design first!
• Earn 1 pin for every 5 books you read.

 

What counts?

• Please only include books that you started reading in 2023.
• There is no limit on reading level or type of books. With that said, please only include books that you read for your own enjoyment or education. If you are reading with a child, please count that book towards a children’s program like 1000BBK.
• Yes, these count: books, ebooks, audiobooks, graphic novels
• No, these do not count: magazines, movies

 

Can I participate without entering the library?

Yes! There is no online component to this challenge, but we’re happy to make accommodations.

If you’d like to participate by phone, please call 860-828-7126. We will keep a reading log for you, and when it’s time to pick your pin, we’ll arrange for curbside pickup or homebound delivery.
