“Recipe for failure. Changed my ingredients.”
Writing the story of your life could take years—but what about writing a truth about yourself or an experience in your life… using only six words?
Six-Word Memoirs® were created by Larry Smith, the founder of SMITH Magazine, in 2006 and are “a simple, creative way to get to the essence of anything—from the breaking news of the day to your own life and the way you live it.”
Write Your 6 Word Memoir
We invite you to create and share your own Six-Word Memoir with us between January 9-27. You can submit your memoir (or memoirs!) below, or visit the Reference Desk.
All memoirs will be shared anonymously in our February display case, and everyone who submits a memoir will receive a personalized bookmark with their memoir on it.
Need inspiration? Check out Six-Word Memoirs or Oprah’s Mini-Memoirs for more information and examples to get you thinking!
Submit Your Memoir
You may submit as many as you’d like!
